Latoya Holiday
MSAN Executive Director
Latoya Holiday currently serves as the executive director of the Multicultural Student Achievement Network (MSAN). She has spent her entire career in education, working and advocating for equity and change to ensure success for all students, especially for students of color and those who have been traditionally underserved in our school systems. Latoya worked for many years at the Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction in various roles, including school administration consultant and federal grant project director. She has also served as an executive cabinet member and special assistant for two Wisconsin State Superintendents of Public Instruction. Latoya has also served as the associate director of the Office of Educational Opportunity at University of Wisconsin System and Chief of Staff/VP of Policy and Government Relations for One City Schools, an independent charter school in Madison, Wisconsin.
Latoya is active in her community and served for three years as an elected member of the Sun Prairie Area School District Board of Education. Latoya currently serves her community as a board member of Sun Prairie Community Schools and the Sunshine Place, a non-profit serving individuals and families in need.
Latoya attended the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and the University of Wisconsin–Madison, earning degrees in English and educational policy.
Connie Showalter
MSAN Project Manager
Connie Showalter is the Project Manager for the Multicultural Student Achievement Network (MSAN), a national coalition of school districts dedicated to improving the educational experiences and outcomes of students of color. She has served in this role since 2010, providing strategic support and operational oversight to advance MSAN’s mission. MSAN is based within the Wisconsin Center for Education Research (WCER) at the University of Wisconsin, Madison, where Connie has built a longstanding career supporting education research and initiatives.
Before her current position, Connie held several roles within projects that are housed in WCER. She served as the Assistant Director of the Strategic Management of Human Capital (SMHC) project. Connie has also been a Research Specialist with multiple nationally recognized studies, including the Value-Added Research Center (VARC), the NICHD Study of Early Child Care and Youth Development, and the Study of Promising After-School Programs. In each role, she brought a strong commitment to supporting data-informed decision-making, and improving educational outcomes for students.
Connie earned her Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Wisconsin–Madison, and continues to contribute to the university’s legacy of research excellence and educational innovation.
Dr. David Glasner
President, MSAN Governing Board of Superintendents
Superintendent, Shaker Heights City School District, Ohio
Dr. David Glasner has served as President of the MSAN Governing Board of Superintendents since January 2025. He previously served as Vice President before assuming the role.
Dr. Glasner currently leads the Shaker Heights City School District in Ohio as superintendent and previously served as Interim Principal of Shaker Heights High School and Executive Director of Curriculum and Instruction for the district. He was also the Principal of Shaker Heights Middle School from July 2014 to June 2018. Before joining the district in Shaker Heights, Dr. Glasner served as principal of the Urban Assembly Academy of Government and Law, a public high school in New York. He was also a high school social studies teacher with the New York City Department of Education.
Dr. Glasner holds a B.A. and an M.A. in history from the University of Pennsylvania, a master’s degree in social studies education from Teachers College, Columbia University, and an administrative certification from the College of Saint Rose. Dr. Glasner earned his doctorate in Urban Education at Cleveland State University.
Kennetra Wood
MSAN Research Practitioner Council Co-Convener
Executive Director of Equity & Alternative Programs, Alexandria City Public Schools, Virginia
Kennetra N. Wood currently provides leadership to MSAN as a co-convener of MSAN’s Research Practitioner Council (RPC). In this role, Kennetra works closely and collaboratively with the MSAN staff to plan and facilitate RPC community of practice meetings. She also advises and supports MSAN staff in advancing the mission of MSAN.
Kennetra serves Alexandria City Public Schools (ACPS) in the role of executive director of equity and Title IX coordinator, where she advocates for and supports the division’s anti-racist journey through her collaboration to create the ACPS Strategic Plan 2025: Equity for All and Strategic Plan 2030: Nurture. Educate. Inspire.
For more than 20 years, Kennetra has served students and the communities in Virginia and Maryland school systems as a middle and high school teacher, a professional school counselor and a school-based administrator.
Kennetra holds a Bachelor of Arts in English education from South Carolina State University, a Master of Education in counseling and development from George Mason University, and a Master of Arts in educational leadership from Trinity University. Wood holds an executive certificate in diversity, equity and inclusion from Georgetown University.
